No one dreams of their day containing a weather warning, but when it happens, our advice is to take it in your stride but be prepared!
Creating a rain plan is such a brilliant insurance policy so the lead up to your wedding day can come together seamlessly.
Samantha & Cam may not have had the ideal weather, but what they did have, was a plan, incredible communication with our team and a few extras that made the day run a little smoother.
If you have a planner or co-ordinator, they will do this and arrange this plan with all vendors, but if you are doing this yourself, we are here to help any way we can!
Here are some TOP TIPS from Lucy’s
Think about your space, if the rain comes in, will you have enough marquee space to have all your guests inside? Sometimes the best option is to move up a marquee size, so you don’t need to worry!
If it is raining on set up day and the day of your wedding, do you know where you want all your furniture pieces to go? Make a plan and send to the Lucy’s team and we can put that together in a wet weather marquee floor plan for you.
If you are planning a fully outdoor wedding reception, dining under the stars, always have a back up plan! Is there a space to bring in all the furniture if this is the case, or is it worth asking the team about marquee options? Remember that no Lucy’s furniture items can be left outside overnight or in the rain.
Who do you have in place to transform the space if rain happens? You do not want to be scrambling, so if you do not have a co-ordinator on site, who can you delegate to?
As well as your reception, have a plan for your ceremony, either to move indoors or to bring into the marquee space if you have one! Creating a ceremony space, that is then transformed into a dancing/cocktail space is a great way to get the best of both worlds, when it comes to space.
And last but not least, the weather is something we can not control, having a plan will help you avoid stress and anxiety leading up to your beautiful day. Communicate with your vendors, use their knowledge and most importantly, know that we are doing our best to help create your dream day, no matter the weather.
