WHERE DID THE DREAM BEGIN FOR LITTLE WOLF? WHERE DID IT ALL START?

LittleWolf was founded in 2010 & started off as a small boutique caterer in Auckland, with the dream of bringing restaurant quality food & service to events, weddings & any other out catered function. Back then, catering was boring & ‘old school’ & very same same no matter where you went. The original owners felt that catering could be exciting & fun, as food is one of the most important parts of any event & can be memorable for all the right (or wrong) reasons.

The call for a fresh new vision in catering was a driving force behind the establishment of LittleWolf in 2010.  Catering had traditionally been ‘old-school’, and so LittleWolf set out to bring modern restaurant quality food to every event.

Having taken on the role as a bespoke caterer, we have consciously explored, experimented, and incorporated customer ideas and utilised the skills of our team.  Today we have an extensive menu library that allows us to create consistently memorable food.

We focus on seasonal produce fused with flavours and cuisines from around the world. This means our selection of dietary options is diverse and interesting.  For example, a Gluten Free offering might be Kingfish ceviche with pickled vegetables, miso & coconut and Vegan Mushroom and bean ‘meatballs’ with grilled fennel & lemon, both within the same menu.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART ABOUT BEING IN THE INDUSTRY?

The people we meet! Our beautiful wedding couples, private clients, on-going corporate clients & our amazing vendors. The Auckland industry is full of so many amazing vendors & people, who we absolutely love – it’s also great to see so many successful women out there absolutely owning what they’re doing.

It’s an added bonus that we’re working with food every day; our team are treated to daily lunches at work, delicious staff meals on events & recipe testing when new menus are being created. Our entire team are naturally all foodies & we get so excited talking about all our delicious options with our clients

ANY FAVOURITE DISHES YOU HAVE ON OFFER AT THE MOMENT?

An all time fave from our 2022 menu (which is making a comeback next season!) is our Slow cooked beef cheek, carrot & anise puree, crispy carrots gf perfect for both the Winter & Summer months & was on nearly every wedding we had in 2022/2023 wedding season

Our Heritage tomatoes, creamy burrata & savoury granola v gf is also a crowd pleaser, who can say no to burrata!

One of our all-time crowd-pleasers is the Porcini Mushroom & Mozzarella Arancini with Truffle Mayo canapé.

LittleWolf at its core is a catering brand, with delicious restaurant food that is ahead of the trends & exceptional customer service to accompany. We offer end to end services, from conception of your event & menu, through to execution on the day of your event. Our skilled team manage all food service, as well as offering bar staff, equipment & beverages.

We have seasonal menus that are planned & tested with the entire team, but can also offer bespoke menus for those extra special clients who know what they want. Our experienced team of EM’s have been with us for over 6 years so know the in’s & out’s of the business as well as how to run weddings, events & private functions from initial enquiry through to on the day coordination of food & beverage service

3-hour response time to an initial enquiry (during business hours of course), with a 48 hour proposal time once we have all the info we need. We can take on last minute bookings, as well as bookings for years’ in advance (we’re already booking weddings for Dec 2026!!)

We work with an amazing group of vendors in & around Auckland & can refer our clients on to trusted suppliers.

We offer group tastings to our wedding couples (one or two per year depending on how many bookings we have). These are held offsite at one of our favourite venues, with a selection of our favourite dishes (from the upcoming seasons’ menu) and delicious cocktails for our clients to taste. We offer this free of charge to any confirmed couples & a small fee for anyone not yet confirmed; however if they do confirm, this fee is waived.

We are also part of a larger Hospitality Group, Shallot Hospitality; who own Folio Hire & BadRabbit. Folio Hire are a modern tableware & barware hire company for events, weddings & private parties. BadRabbit is our beverage brand, that offers a range of kegged style cocktails & competitively priced beer, wine & non-alcoholic beverages. We’re finding that kegged cocktails are a huge hit these days, with signature cocktails, his & hers, post-ceremony, arrival & late night options at weddings becoming very popular. We’re able to serve all guests at once, rather than making one cocktail at a time, and they still look & taste delicious.
